Transnational Cooperative RTD Projects
Programm Action Line
"Transnational Cooperative RTD Projects"

Calls are closed!

The Calls provided a framework for cooperation projects between innovative Austrian NANO players and international partners. Furthermore, the possibility for Austrian partners to participate in the MNT-ERA.NET Calls was ensured. Thus both internationalisation and competitiveness were strengthened by exchanging know-how and building up the competence of the Austrian players.
"Transnational Cooperative RTD Projects"

With the programme action line "Transnational Cooperative RTD Projects", the NANO Initiative pursues the following objectives.
     • Broadening the cooperation basis between science and industry
     • Strengthening research competence in fields of application relevant to Austrian enterprises
     • Accelerating technology transfer and increasing the economic utilisation of nanotechnology
     • Improving access to know-how and to cooperation partners abroad

Funding is intended for innovative research and development projects with high risk. The project duration is limited to a maximum of 3 years. Project consortia consist of at least one Austrian company and one international partner. Proposals from all fields of nanosciences and nanotechnologies can be submitted. Furthermore the possibility for Austrian partners to participate in the MNT-ERA.NET was ensured.

Austrian partners in a transnational project are funded by the Austrian NANO Initiative. The international partners had to look after funds from the funding institution in the partners’ own country.

How to find project partners?
Please use the Catalogue of the current NANO Cluster Projects or the NANO Black Board to find and search for project partners.
MNT ERA-Net

An ERA-NET is a network of regional and / or national funding programmes with the aim to reduce fragmentation of R&D funding in Europe. It is the goal of MNT-ERA.NET to make national support programmes in Micro and Nano Technologies (MNT) accessible to transnational consortia. Due to the cooperation and the coordinated procedure of the funding agencies, integrating a project into an ERA-NET has certain advantages.

Under the programme action line "Transnational Cooperative RTD Projects" only projects in the field of NANO could be submitted. Projects which do not fulfil the NANO Initiative’s requirements could also be submitted under the FFG‘s General Programmes which also took part in the MNT Calls.
